The Kano State House of Assembly committee on election matters has successfully cleared the nominee for the confirmation as a member of KANSIEC in its report which was submitted to the house today.

In a press statement signed by the chief Press Secretary to Rt, Hon Speaker kamaluddeen Sani Shawai and issued to Newsmen on 23/4/2024, a letter was received dated 25/3/2024 from his Excellency the executive Governor of Kano State Eng, Abba Kabir Yusuf conveying the name of Lawan Badamasi as a substitute to Garba Ibrahim Tsanyawa as a member KANSIEC.

During the plenary session, the chairman of the house committee on election matters Hon,Eng Murtala Muhd Kadage said the nominee is eligible for the appointment as the member Kano State Independent Electoral Commission.

Eng Murtala Muhd Kadage also said in line with the provision of section 4 (a) and (b) of the Kano State independence electoral commission law 2001, the nominee is qualified to be appointed as the member KANSIEC.

Furthermore, the honorable members unanimously approved the report submitted by Eng Murtala Muhd Kadage chairman committee on election matters.

However, the speaker Kano State House of Assembly Rt Hon Jibril Ismail Falgore commends the good job of the members house committee on election matters while discharging their responsibilities.

The newly nominee Alhaji Lawan Badamasi who held various positions ranging from clerk at table, Deputy Director, Director, Deputy clerk as well as clerk/Permanent Secretary respectively.
