KNHA has said the functions of members in the assembly are, representation, making laws and oversight function.

The Chairman House Committee on Higher Education Abdulhamid Abdul made the disclosure during a visit to the Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano.

He said the purpose of the visit is to as ascertain the level of progress made on the 2024 budget.

On his part,Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Muktar Atiku Kurawa commended the parliamentarians for visit, which he said is an epoch making event.

He said the University was established in 2012 to offer some academic programs.

The Vice Chancellor also said all the programs run by the institution were accredited by the National Universities Commission, he said among the success recorded was the establishment of Faculty of Law and School Post Graduate Studies among others.

The Committee was also at Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies along Airport road.

The provost of the college while receiving Chairman and members of the committee said the college was established in 1972, he said 80 percent of the students were indigene of Kano State .

Professor Sanusi also said 67 lectures pursuing there studies in and outside the shores of the country, and has thirty PhD holders among its tutors sponsored by the institution.

He further added that the college enter partnership with relevant stakeholders for development of conducive of leaning and teaching and various projects were also carried out more especially infrastructural development.
